1. Legal Language, Legal Writing and Communication Skills
SYLLABUS FOR COURSE :
OBJECTIVES:
Legal education is a multi- disciplined, multi-purpose education which can develop the human
resources need to strengthen legal system. The goal of the course is to make the students understand the
legal language helpful for effective writing and communication, which is a key for lawyer’s success.
UNIT-I : Introduction to Legal language, Importance of English in Legal Education and Legal Profession, Meaning
and use of basic Legal terms.
UNITII : Legal maxims and their importance, Important Legal maxims.
UNIT-III : Reading and Comprehension: Bare Acts, Legal Texts and Case laws.
UNIT-IV : Legal Writing: Fundamental principles of Legal Writing, Precise Writing, Translation, Drafting
Plaintiff, Written statements, Applications and Deeds.
UNIT-V : Communication skills: its importance in Legal Profession, Skills for good communication along with
Soft skills, Presentation techniques.

NOTE:
1) The Course is Only for the students of Anjuman Law College.
2) The classes for the same will be held after the College hours in the College premises.
3) The Course consists of 30 hours of teaching including any practicals.
2. WOMEN AND LAW
OBJECTIVES:
The Course intends to address the need for women rights, analysing certain laws from feminist perspective
and get acquainted with the laws enacted to protect women from various forms of exploitation.
SYLLABUS FOR THE COURSE:
UNIT-I : Origin and development of Women Studies, Fundamental
concepts: Sex, Gender, Socialization, Gender roles and Stereotypes. Women’s Human Rights: UDHRS and CEDAW.
UNIT-II: Constitutional provisions relating to women.
Women Rights under Personal laws: Marriage, Maintenance, Divorce, Custody of children, Adoption and Property rights.
UNIT-III: Women and employment: Special provisions under Factories Act, Maternity Benefit Act, Equal
Remuneration Act and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), Act.
UNIT-IV: Glimpses of laws for the protection of Women: the Devadasi Act, 1982, Dowry Prohibition Act,
1961, Child Marriage Prohibition Act, 2006, Prevention of Sati Act, 1987, Prevention of Immoral Traffic
(Prevention) Act, 1956, PCPNDT,ACT, 1994 and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act,2005.
UNIT-V: Offences against Women:Rape, Dowry death, Cruelty by Husband and husband’s relatives. Special
provisions for women under CrPC and Evidence Act.
