Internal Complaints Committee/ Anti-sexual Harassment Cell.
The Committee is as per the guidelines given by UGC regarding the “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013”, an Internal Complaints Committee has been established in the year 2016 and continue to work since then.
Aim of the Committee:
The Committee is established with an objective of providing
- Awareness to the girl students about the Committee, thus assuring them a safe and secured environment.
- Sensitization of the Staff and Male students about Gender issues.
- To strive for Redressal in case of any complaints of Sexual harassment.
- To recommend actions to be taken in case of Sexual harassment
What is Sexual Harassment?
Sexual Harassment constitutes,
a) Any unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature,
b) Demand or request for sexual favour,
c) Making sexually coloured remarks,
d) Physical contact and advances or
e) Showing pornography.
Procedure for Complaint:
The Act stipulates that aggrieved woman can make written complaint of sexual harassment at workplace to the ICC,within a period of three months from the date of incident and in case of a series of incidents, within a period of three months from the date of last incident. As per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Rules, 2013, in case the aggrieved woman is unable to make a complaint on account of her physical incapacity, a complaint may be filed inter alia by her relative or friend or her co-worker.
